The latest report from the Power Administration is for full generation 24 hours per day thru Wednesday, February 8th and possibly Thursday. The lake is now 462.9 after the rain on Friday night. This is about 1 1/2 foot above the normal of 461.4. After Thursday we should see some breaks in the generation but still will see quite a bit until the lake returns to normal. Hopefully by the weekend, we will have some wading opportunities. The next rain is predicted for the first of next week and we’ll have to see how much we get. The ground is soaked and now every inch of rain amounts to about a one foot rise in the lake.
Drift fishing should be good later in the week when the breaks in generation make for better fishing conditions. The river is clearing and should be clear by Wednesday. Rainbows can be caught by drift fishing heavy nymphs deep under indicators.
We have had a mild winter and the fishing should be good early this spring. You might want to start thinking about booking a trip later this month or in March. So far we do not have the high water conditions in the lake we had last year so there should be some good days ahead.
Good Fishing!!
