The fishing has been good on the upper to middle part of the river the last couple of days.  I am still getting reports that the lower river is still lacking fish.  Most of the trout migrated up during the warm water conditions and have not moved back to the lower river.  They are now stocking at Dripping Springs and Ramsey but the fish have not spread out much from the stocking areas.  With the cooler weather, increased generation and stocking, the lower river should return to normal.
The blue winged olive hatch is continuing in the afternoon and the fish have been active.  Rainbows mostly, but once in a while a brown will surprise you.  The fish are taking small nymphs such as size 16 or 18 pheasant tails or size 20 midge pupas.  Also small, size 18 or 20, emergers are taking some fish.  The low, clear water requires better presentation and small tippet.  The morning fishing has been good using sow bugs and small nymphs.
The river remains low and clear with late afternoon generation.

Don't forget the river cleanup on Saturday, September 8th at Lobo Landing...8:00 am !!
