The river has been flowing at the rate of one generator for the past week with the release being made from the flood gates. The flow has been consistent all week and the river is clear. We have had very little rain today with the heavy rains going to the south. If this continues thru the night, the lake should return to normal by Monday. If all goes well the cfs should return to the 300 to 500 cfs range on Monday or Tuesday. We have one slight hitch in this forecast and that is the chance of heavy rain on Wednesday and Thursday next week. We missed this one, so far, maybe we’ll miss the next.
Drift fishing has been good during the last week with some nice rainbows and browns being taken on large nymphs fished heavy about 6 to 7 feet deep. Twelve to 14 inch rainbows have been caught in good numbers.
I will try to post next week after the forecast rain for Wednesday and Thursday. You should check the level of the tailwater, if you are planning a wading trip, to confirm they have reduced the flow from the spillway. The tailwater height has been about 272.3 for the past week. Wading height should be about 5 feet lower.
Good Fishing!!
