We were fortune enough to miss the brunt of the bad weather on Thursday and the heavy rain, but it did rain enough in the northern part of the watershed to raise the lake level about 3 tenths of a foot which put it back in the flood pool. The Corp opened a total of 3 flood gates (they are still not using the generators due to repairs) with a flow of about 2000 cfs. This raises the tailwater level to 271.4 which is about 5 foot above the low water level. The river is clear to slightly colored depending on the section of river with the upper river being the clearest.
No wading is available at this time but the drift fishing continues to be good with March Browns and some Caddis beginning to hatch. The lake level is 462.28 and steady. Without any large rain events, wading water may be available the latter part of next week. You can contact the dam at 501-362-5150 to get the latest water release information. The recording will give you the lake level and approximate current cfs (cubic feet per second) release. Until April 24th, when the generators are back on line, 200 to 500 cfs is the low water level and wading is possible on most shoals.
The fish below were caught by clients during the last 2 weeks.
Good Fishing!!
