Update!

It looks like the work at the power station was finished ahead of schedule because they turned the generators back on at 2:00 pm Wednesday.  They have ceased releasing water over the spillway and resumed the normal releases thru the generator so you can check the proposed generation schedules on line.  They ran approximately 3300 cfs until midnight Wednesday night and show generation starting again at 6:00 am this morning.  At this time, they are showing running 2 generators for about 3 hours and then 1 unit until midnight.  I am not sure at this time what the weekend will bring, I would suggest checking the SWPA forecast for the latest updates.  There is a new app for your phone which will let you check these forecasts and the releases (USACE LITTLE ROCK). The upper left icon is the current releases of the dams in the Little Rock district and the SWPA icon will give you the forecasted generation.
The river is clear and the fish were biting yesterday on nymphs drift fishing while the water was still about 5 ½ foot high.  If they continue running one generator or about 3300 cfs, this will probably continue.  If the flow is increased, this will probably slow the bite.  The good news is the lake is not that high and should return to normal soon if we don’t get a large rain.

Good Fishing!!
