The weather continues to be the main factor in fishing on the Little Red.  The river is muddy due to heavy rains the last two days.  The Corp of Engineers told me they would probably be running one generator around the clock thru the weekend.  The lake is over two feet high and still rising, slightly, but the White River levels are requiring that they only release this amount of water until the level permits an increase.  As soon as the levels at Newport and Georgetown recede, both units will be used to lower the lake.  The generation will help clear the river and if one unit continues the drift fishing should be good over the weekend.  It would be best to check the proposed generation level before planning a trip.
The caddis are beginning to hatch but we will have to see if this cold snap affects the hatch. The temps will be cooler thru Sunday with summer returning the first of the week.  My clients did well on the upper river on Saturday with midge pupas and on Sunday the larger nymphs did well on the lower river.

Good Fishing!!
