The river is in great shape and the fish are biting. The lake is back to normal and the generation has returned to a summer time pattern.  Late afternoon and evening generation has been the rule for the last two days.  Monday and Tuesday I have seen midges, blue winged olives, sulphurs and a few caddis hatching.  The insects have been hatching from late morning to late afternoon.
Since there seems to be a mixed bag of hatches, midge pupas, mayfly nymphs and sow bugs have all been taking fish.  My fishermen are catching a lot of good size rainbows and on Monday, they added 8 nice browns.
If you have not seen my slide shows on this website, I might suggest you click on videos on the home page menu and take a look.  They will give you a tour of the Little Red and “Brown Trout Action” is underwater shots of brown trout on Cow Shoals.  I think you will enjoy them whether you are considering a first time trip to the Little Red or you are already a regular angler.

Good Fishing!!
