All remains well on the Little Red!!  The weather, water and fish are all cooperating to make this one of the best summers in the last few years. The mild summer temperatures, along with afternoon generation for about 4 hours, have kept the river in great shape and the fish are feeding on mayfly hatches.  The bite has been best in the midday and afternoon hours because of the increase in bug activity.
Midge pupas, mayfly nymphs and mayfly emergers are still the best bet with blue-winged olives being the most active mayflies.

The Little Red River Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, September 6th.  It would be a good day to plan an afternoon fishing and help with the cleanup on Saturday morning.  Volunteers will meet at the pavilion in JFK park and lunch will be furnished to volunteers.
