Hot!!!! That’s what it got the last 3 days on the river. August finally remembered what it was supposed to be like and turned up the temperature. With a couple of showers the last two days, the river remains clear and afternoon and early evening generation is still the rule. Generation has been starting about 2:00 pm during the week and later on the weekends. Water temperature is still good with this generation pattern. Blue winged olives are still the main attraction in the afternoons with size 20 or smaller nymphs, emergers and some dry fly action. The bite has been fair to good in the mornings and good in the afternoons. If possible, please help Trout Unlimited Chapter 722 with the river cleanup on September 6, 2014. Volunteers will meet at the guard house at JFK Park at 8:00 am and return to the pavilion in the park for lunch at noon. Let’s all help keep our river clean!!!!
