The river remains low and clear but the cold temperatures will likely require more generation during the coming days.  I see they are generating one hour this evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and have scheduled generation for one hour in the morning at 7:00 am and again at 5:00 pm for 2 hours.  All generation is scheduled for one unit.  Hopefully this will get the brown trout moving.  A little more water on the shoals should help.
So far I have not seen any redds on the shoals.  The rainbows are trying to spawn but the browns have not started.  There are a few browns being caught on Cow Shoals and this seems to be the only report of brown trout activity.  My fishermen were able to catch 4 nice browns last weekend but they were caught at various places while drift fishing and were not spawning.  It seems that the brown trout run is happening later the last two or three years.  It looks like a late November or early December fishing trip might be the best for a chance at the browns this year.
Overall fishing is good with small flies and tippets being the rule because of the clarity of the river.  Good presentation is a must.
