The rain over the weekend did not muddy the river.   Below Sulphur Creek, the river was murky on Monday but is clearing today.  I have seen some brown activity the last couple of days so the spawn may be beginning.  I saw a few nice browns on the shoals over the weekend and caught a few 12 to 15 inch males.   Fishing a short time this afternoon, I caught one 19 inch female and she was still carrying eggs.  She was in a staging area below a shoal. This is another indicator that the spawn should start soon.
We could use a little more water in the river but without some heavy rain, the lake will remain low.  This along with milder temperatures means very little generation.  Stealth wading on the shoals is a must since the low water makes the fish wary.
I have some openings next week and the first part of December.  If the weather is right and you need a fishing “fix”, the timing might be right for a great trip.
I hope all have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!
Good Fishing!!!
