Well, so much for the mild winter of 2015!! There has not been much fishing on the Little Red during the last week. Snow, ice and cold weather caused all my trips over the weekend to change to a later date. I didn’t fuss about it ….believe me! The rain on Saturday muddied the river and with no generation until today (Monday), the river was muddy all weekend. The generation over the next couple of days should clear the river. The fish are probably still biting since they don’t mind the cold weather, but I couldn’t swear to it because I have been inside trying to keep warm. Hopefully by next week the weather will be better and the river will be in good shape. The generation is still on demand only since the lake is about 4 feet below the flood pool. This should make good fishing conditions when the temperature is milder. The first free fly fishing class went well even with the bad weather. If you are interested in attending the remaining three classes, give me a call, it’s not too late to enroll. (501-690-9166) The classes are at the First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs on Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm. Good Fishing!!
