Hope the trout like a hail storm!!  We had quite a storm on the river last night with heavy rain, strong wind and one of the worst hail storms I have seen.  The hail covered the ground and knocked a lot of the foliage off the trees.  My yard looks like it does in the fall except the leaves are green.  The river was murky this morning at my house, below Sulphur Creek, but it is beginning to clear since they are still running one generator around the clock.
The Corp informed me that the generation will probably remain the same for the next couple of weeks since one of the generators is scheduled to remain off line for this period due to maintenance.  The amount of water being released is the minimum amount the Corp sets for the current conditions.  This means as long as the lake is in the flood pool, they will run this amount of water with one generator available.  Looking at the bright side, the bulk of the rain was below the lake’s watershed so the reservoir is not rising.  The lake level is 465.85 which is approximately 3 feet above normal.
My clients caught nice rainbows on Friday and Sunday.  The trick is to find the fish in the high water.  Drift fishing with large flies seems to be the best bet. Size 12 Flashback Hair’s Ears were productive in about 8 to 9 foot of water.

Good Fishing!!
