Fishing was good the last part of the week and over the weekend.  The generation has been starting about 11:00 am each day.  A few afternoon thunderstorms in the area are keeping the river a little colored but still good fishing.

The fish are taking sow bugs and nymphs and with the river clearing, small midge pupas have been taking some nice rainbows and browns. A lot of good fish were caught and released over the weekend. One of my clients caught an 18 in. rainbow on a midge on Saturday.  The other client hooked three fish about this same size but was unable to land them.  Holding and landing a large fish on a size 20 midge is not easy!   When he jumps or comes to the surface and the fisherman sees the size of the fish, somethimes excitement causes them to try to land the fish to quickly.  Just can't turn the fish on that small hook while it's full of fight.

A lot of folks enjoyed the river this weekend.  This is good to see.  After the high water the last two years, it's great to see people returning  to the river and enjoy the fishing. The generation should remain about the same for the next few days.

Good Fishing!!
