The White River is not falling as fast as first predicted therefore the release from the Greers Ferry Dam is still one unit about 22 hours per day.  This will continue until the level of the White River at Georgetown reaches 22 feet and then the release will be the equivalent of 2 generators (one unit +flood gates) around the clock until the lake returns to normal. This increase should begin the first of next week. This schedule could last as long as 50 to 60 days. This information is based on current conditions.  Any large amounts of rainfall during this period will affect this forecast.  I will keep this report updated as I receive future information from the Corp.
Drift fishing is the only option at this time using large nymphs, egg patterns and micro-jigs.  Be safe and watch for obstructions while drifting.

This year’s free fly fishing class will begin February 18th.  It will consist of classes from 7:00 to 9:00 pm each Thursday night for four weeks.  We will meet at the Family Life Center of First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs.  If interested please call me and reserve your place in the class.

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND GOOD FISHING!!
