I fished a short time on Friday afternoon and caught 4 brown trout.  These were the first browns I've taken in about a week. It was just before the generation got to my location and that sometimes starts the browns feeding.  The period just as the river starts rising....even before the fisherman can detect the rise, sometimes turns the browns on.

Today was a good day drift fishing with nymphs.  We started below Lobo and drifted the middle and lower river with good action on rainbows.  Olive colored nymphs were again the popular fly.  The river is in good shape.......still a little colored right after the generation but clearing as the day goes on.  The heavy rains that brought flooding to southwest Arkansas missed our area so the generation schedule remains about the same with generation starting about 10:00 am.  As the heat increases we'll have to watch this schedule since there will be an increase in demand for electricity.

With the free fishing weekend and kids' fishing derby there were a lot of fishermen on the river today. Hope everyone enjoyed the river and had a safe day.

Good Fishing!!
