Well, I have good news and bad news. The good news is it looks like we missed the flooding rains of the first wave. We have received about 3 inches of rain as of Friday. This is much less than the southern and eastern part of Arkansas. My thoughts and prayers go out to the folks in northern Louisiana and southern and eastern Arkansas who are dealing with flooding caused by 10 to 20 inches of rainfall.
The bad news is the lake has come up 1 ½ feet above the target level of 457 feet needed to finish the work at the dam so they are back to running the one generator around the clock. The lake level is stabilizing as of Friday afternoon. Hopefully we will miss the heavy rain Saturday and Sunday and the lake will begin to fall to the 457 level soon.
The river is beginning to fall and clear and drift fishing will be available, if we don’t get the heavy rain over the weekend. Again, large nymphs, micro jigs and San Juan worms are a good bet.
Good Fishing!!
