I spoke with my contact at the Southwestern Power Administration and was informed that generation will be reduced to demand only. The schedule will probably be about 4 hours per day and no generation on the weekend. I was told that a decision on a definite time for this to begin had not been made as of 2:00 pm today, but the schedule could begin as soon as this weekend. Barring any large rains, the schedule is to start no later than Monday of next week.
Work is not fully completed on the dam which required the lake level to be 457 feet but enough has been completed to allow the second generator to be available when needed. This will allow control of the lake level, should it rise into the flood pool, without using the flood gates. The remaining work that needs to be completed will be postponed until fall which is traditionally the driest season.
If all goes well, good fishing is in the near future so make your plans accordingly. I have openings for trips so give me a call or email and we’ll work out the details. If you get a message when calling, I’m probably on the river but leave a message and I will return your call the same day as soon as I get off the river.
Good Fishing!!
