April showers bring May flowers.  What does August rain bring?  If it comes in the amount we got on Sunday night and Monday, it brings muddy water to the Little Red River.  The river is muddy but clearing slightly with the increased generation.  The lake level is now 463.3 and rising so we can expect the generation to increase.  As of tomorrow they are projecting 2 units running from 1:00 pm till 7:00 pm.  If the rain lets up, we may see reasonable levels and clearing by the weekend.
With the stained water and higher levels, dark wooly buggers, size 14 to size 16 nymphs or micro jigs may be the best flies.

Please don’t forget the river cleanup on September 10th.
