I have fished different sections of the river from about 10 miles below the dam to 25 miles downstream from the dam in the last 3 days with good fishing in all locations.  Nymphing has been the best for me the last few days even when the fish are rising to mayflies.  I tried drys a couple of times without any success.  It seems the fish are taking nymphs and emergers.  Pheasant tails, sow bugs and midge pupas have been the best flies.

The last trip was Saturday on the lower river at Dripping Springs and I noticed the water beginning to warm in the lower river.  I didn't have a thermometer so I'm not sure of the temperature but it seemed warm.  The fish were still active and entergetic.  Mostly rainbows with a few browns.  The weather forecast is for low 90's with some overcast conditions in the next week so this should keep the water temps about the same.

A lot of folks were on the river over the holiday weekend and it seemed most were catching fish.  It's great to see the river at a lower level and people again being able to enjoy it.

Good Fishing!!
