IT’S COLD!!   That’s about all there is to say about the fishing.  The forecast is below freezing for the rest of the week.  Looks like Sunday will be the first day above freezing with a forecast of rain.  The river remains clear with 4 to 5 hours of generation each day starting at about 6:00 am.
When the temperature is where your fly line doesn’t freeze, small midges have been the only insect activity on the river.  Small midge emergers, midge pupa, sow bugs and small streamers would be your best choices of flies.

I will again be offering the free fly fishing class at First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs beginning Thursday evening, February 15th.  The class lasts for 4 weeks (each Thursday night from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm).  These dates are February 15, February 22, March 1 and March 8.  It would be best to attend all classes, but if this not possible. come when you can. To register for this class, please contact Greg Seaton at 501-690-9166.  If I am unable to answer, I will return voicemails or texts.
