The river remains clear with afternoon generation.  The bite has been good with caddis hatches still going on in the upper and mid river.  The caddis activity has slowed on the lower river with mayflies starting to appear. The best choice of lies depends on the area and the hatch.

Where caddis are active, caddis pupa, red-ass flies or other caddis emergers are producing.  Where the mayflies and midges are the most active, midge pupas, pheasant tails and mayfly nymphs would be a good choice.

A 20” brown was the last fish of the day on Saturday making my client’s day even better.  As a guide, you can’t ask for a better ending to a good day.  A big fish doesn’t have to be caught to have a good day on the river, but it never hurts! Congratulations….John!!
