The river remains clear with the 12 hour/2 units generation schedule. The majority of the time, this has been from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm but the last couple of days they have stopped at noon and started again at 3:00 pm. This means the generation will then last till about 10 pm. The Corp has informed me the 12 hour schedule will continue thru the weekend or until the lake is back to the 462.04 normal. Check the SWPA Forecast to find the proposed hours of generation. Remember that the generation begins an hour before the posted time and ends at the posted time.
Drift fishing has been fair to good ahead of the rise each morning. Large nymphs, sow bugs, midge pupa and egg patterns have been good selections. From mid river down, the water never quite gets to the low water stage before the new generation arrives, so there is very little opportunity for wade fishing. NOTICE: I will again be offering the free fly-fishing class at First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs beginning Thursday evening, February 21st. The class lasts for 4 weeks (each Thursday night (from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm). These dates are February 21, February 28, March 7 and March 14. It would be best to attend all classes, but if this not possible. come when you can. To register for this class, please contact Greg Seaton at 501-690-9166. If I am unable to answer, I will return voicemails or texts.
