After over 5 inches of rain on Sunday and Monday, the lake level is 469.3 and rising and the river is stained to muddy. Today (Wednesday), the river is getting back to a more normal level after flash flooding occurred on Monday. The Corp has informed me that they are generating the 2 units/12-hour schedule. This will probably last for at least 2 weeks. When the lower Little Red River and White River level at Georgetown permit, the release will increase to 2 units 24/7 to lower the lake level to normal as soon as possible. As the river clears from the runoff, there will be windows to fish according to the times of generation. Check the proposed generation each day to plan your trip. NOTICE: This class begins next week!!!I will again be offering the free fly-fishing class at First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs beginning Thursday evening, February 21st. The class lasts for 4 weeks (each Thursday night (from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm). These dates are February 21, February 28, March 7 and March 14. It would be best to attend all classes, but if this not possible. come when you can. To register for this class, please contact Greg Seaton at 501-690-9166.
