The river is clear with generation of 2 units for a 12-hour period. This usually begins at 8:00 am or 10:00 am. The schedule is posted on the USACE Little Rock App each day at 4:00 pm for the next day. On Friday the posting is for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Check this by selecting the SWPA Forcasts button on the app. The Corp informed me that this pattern will continue for the next few weeks until the White River can handle an increased amount of flow from the Little Red. The bite continues to be good ahead of the new generation. The fish are still looking for caddis. Caddis emergers and pupa seem to be the best fly selection. Watch for the strike at the end of the drift when the fly begins to rise back to the surface. Please use care when fishing the river during the generation and be aware of when the rising water will reach the area you are fishing. All boats need to avoid docks and other obstacles from the upstream side in high water. When using kayaks or canoes it is best to know when the increased flow will reach your area and plan to take out ahead of this rise. Respect the river and enjoy your day.
