The weather has been absolutely perfect here in
Arkansas, and with cooler temps rolling in this week it’s a great time
to get out on the water.
As
far as generation goes, the SWPA (Southwest Power Administration) has
been releasing water in the afternoons, usually starting around 3 p.m.
and only running for about an hour or two. That schedule has really
opened up the river, giving anglers plenty of opportunities to wade fish
throughout the day.
Fishing
from the boat has been solid too, especially when working the deeper
runs near moss beds or any stretch with a bit of current.
Hot
flies right now include pheasant tail soft hackles, Guides Choice
Hare’s Ears, pink San Juan worms, egg patterns, and midges.
It’s shaping up to be a great week to get out and enjoy some time on the Little Red.
